URBC CELEBRATES THE LIFE OF LUTHER ALLISON
We at Bean Hollow Productions and the Forever Blues Project (c) are pleased to have had URBC#7 as the final venue in the ToezJamTour '97/98. The following is the letter from URBC which was included in the brochure distributed during the cruise January 17-24, 1998.
URBC principal and "cruise director" George Myers recieved loud applause when he used the occassion of the traditional party for cruise returnees to announced that "The 7th Ultimate Rhythm and Blues Cruise is dedicated to Luther Sylvester Allison".
The celebration continued during the two artist autograph parties on board ship, and throughout the week, when Onnie, Raymond, Amanda and I were able to speak with so many cruisers about their love of Luther and the meaning the man and the music has had in their lives.
By the time the Thursday night Anson Funderburgh poolside set rolled round, the number of ToezJamTour official t-shirts being sported by cruisers began to look like the ToezCult had invaded URBC! It was terrific. <SMILE!>
Thanks again to all the cruisers and to URBC for being such a significant part of TJT'97 and for supporting the permanent legacy to Luther Allison.
